This Privacy Policy describes how NoteFlow ("we", "our", or "the App") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our Android application.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information collected automatically
- Device information: Device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and language settings.
- Usage data: App interactions, crash logs, and performance data collected through Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics.
- Advertising data: Advertising ID (Google Advertising ID), ad interaction data (impressions, clicks) collected by Google AdMob.
1.2 Information you provide
- Notes content: Text, images, voice recordings, tags, and reminders you create within the App. All note data — including audio recording files — is stored locally on your device.
- Backup data: If you choose to use the Google Drive backup feature, your note data will be uploaded to your personal Google Drive account. We do not have access to your Google Drive data.
- Feedback: If you choose to send feedback through the App, the content of your feedback message will be shared via your device's email client.
1.3 Information we do NOT collect
- We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any personal contact information.
- We do not require account registration to use the App's core features.
- We do not upload or transmit your note content to our servers. All notes are processed and stored locally on your device.
- We do not access, read, or store any photos or audio recordings beyond what you explicitly attach to your notes.
- We do not collect your precise or approximate device location unless you explicitly create a location-based reminder. Location data used for reminders is processed locally and is not transmitted to our servers.
2. How We Use Information
- To provide the service: Creating, editing, organizing, and searching notes; recording and playing back voice notes; setting time-based and location-based reminders; managing tags; displaying widgets on your home screen.
- To provide AI features: When you use the AI-assisted writing or editing features, the relevant note content is sent to Google Gemini API for processing. This data is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. AI features are optional and only activated by explicit user action.
- To display advertisements: We use Google AdMob to show ads. AdMob may use your Advertising ID to serve personalized or non-personalized ads based on your consent.
- To improve the app: Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics) and usage analytics (Firebase Analytics) help us identify and fix bugs and improve user experience.
- To provide backup services: When you opt in to Google Drive backup, your data is synced to your personal Google Drive for recovery purposes.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. Permissions We Request
The App may request the following permissions:
- Internet & Network State: Required for ads, analytics, crash reporting, and Google Drive backup.
- Camera: To capture photos for attachment to notes (optional).
- Microphone: To record audio for attachment to notes (optional).
- Notifications: To deliver note reminders and alarms.
- Exact Alarm: To trigger reminders at the precise time you set.
- Location (Fine & Coarse): To trigger location-based reminders when you arrive at or leave a specific place (optional, only requested when you create a location reminder).
- Biometric / Fingerprint: To protect private notes with biometric authentication (optional).
- Boot Completed: To restore scheduled reminders after device restart.

5. Advertising and Consent
We display ads through Google AdMob. For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), we use Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to obtain consent before serving personalized ads, in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
You may choose to:
- Consent to personalized advertising
- Not consent (non-personalized ads will be shown)
- Manage options to customize your preferences
Premium subscribers may enjoy an ad-free experience.
6. Subscription and Purchases
The App offers optional premium subscriptions through Google Play Billing. Purchase and subscription information is managed by Google Play and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. We do not collect or store your payment information.
7. Data Storage and Security
- All notes, tags, reminders, and user preferences are stored locally on your device using an encrypted local database.
- Private notes can be additionally protected with a PIN and/or biometric authentication.
- We do not operate any servers that store your personal data.
- If you use Google Drive backup, your data is stored in your personal Google Drive account and is subject to Google's security measures.
- Third-party services (Google) may store analytics and crash data on their servers according to their respective privacy policies.
8. Data Retention
- Local data (notes, tags, reminders, preferences) is stored until you delete it within the App or uninstall the App.
- Google Drive backup data remains in your Google Drive until you manually delete it.
- Analytics and crash data are retained by Google according to their data retention policies.
9. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
10. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal data
- Withdraw consent for personalized advertising
- Opt out of analytics data collection
- Request data portability
To exercise these rights, you can:
- Reset your Advertising ID in your device's Settings > Google > Ads
- Use the App's built-in backup/export feature to export your data
- Uninstall the App to remove all locally stored data
